Family Programs

The Burnaby Art Gallery’s family programs provide an opportunity for children of all ages to engage in an exhibition and participate in a related studio activity for low or no cost. The programs are designed to provide an entry point into the gallery, its programs and ideas and concepts that artists have explored and developed in their artwork.

Gardeners and artists have a lot in common approaching the colour, texture and composition of their creations.  Spend time on our veranda-turned-studio, designing the garden of your dreams as an abstracted colourful collage and painting.  Instructor Lor Schneider introduces basic composition elements for creating aerial view garden maps and plans using paper cut outs, oil pastel and colour washes.
