The artwork of Wendy Morosoff Smith has been greatly influenced by her
childhood on the Canadian prairies where the horizon forms a dramatic point of reference.
Wendy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in farming communities in Saskatchewan. She studied graphic design and has worked as an award winning designer and art director throughout western Canada and the Yukon.
After a jaunt to Italy to study printmaking in Florence in 1990, Wendy's
career changed direction. Now focusing solely on printmaking and painting, her work blends abstraction and landscape symbolism with the study of light and space.
Wendy works from her studio in Tsawwassen, B.C., just south of
Vancouver, as well as at Malaspina Printmakers Studio in Vancouver. Her work has been shown and collected throughout Canada and the U.S.A., Europe, Japan, Peru, Australia and Korea.
