Richard Kent was born in Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico. The fourth and last son of a Mexican mother and Canadian father he studied Graphic Design from 1980 to 1984 at the Iberoamericana University in Mexico City. Since 1980 he and has had more than 34 solo and 49 collective exhibitions in Mexico, Spain, and Canada. In 2002 he moved to the city of Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
Kent's paintings are often multiple images that combine media and pigments and often focus on the direct or indirect representation of women
Companies and collectors that have Kent's work include Vancouver School Board, Sanofi-Synthelabo, Pfizer, and Bristol Myers. His paintings have also appeared in several books, magazines, calendars and videos.
